Setup. A district gives us its roster and accommodation export once, and every teacher opens Bloom to a board that already has their students, periods and each plan's supports in it. A teacher working alone types all of that in by hand. The software itself is the same: nothing is held back from the individual licence.

In a file on the teacher's own computer, plus a copy in a location you choose, normally the school Google Drive. Two copies in different places, because a single copy is one folder deletion away from gone. Nothing is sent to us, and there is no account to sign in to.

No, and not by policy but by construction. The part of the app that holds student data has its network access switched off at the browser-engine level and cannot make a request at all. The only thing Bloom ever asks the internet is whether a newer version exists, from a separate process that cannot read the record, and that check can be turned off permanently in Settings.

Install Bloom and point it at the same records folder. It finds the existing file and picks up where it left off, licence included, without anyone typing a key again. This is the case we test hardest, because district laptops get replaced mid-year.

Completely. It is a desktop application, not a website, and it has no online mode to fall back from. A teacher can record a full day on a laptop that has never been connected to anything.

Windows 10 or 11. It is a single file with no installer, so it runs without admin rights, which matters on a managed device.

Everything already recorded stays open, editable and printable, forever. Bloom will not hold a compliance record behind a payment. That is a deliberate design decision, not a grace period.

Licences are issued by hand at the moment, so it is not instant, normally within one business day. For a district, the longer step is producing the roster and accommodation export, which a special education director can usually pull in an afternoon.
